EXHIBITIONS
The exhibition of "Election Posters 1946-1980" in October 1991 was the first activity of the Foundation in that field and was widely acclaimed. The "Never Ending Interview - Istanbul" in April 1993 was an exhibition composed of photographs by world famous Ara Güler. The exhibition of "A Future for Eyup," held in March 1994, was comprised of plans, projects and photographs of Eyup, one of the historical districts of Istanbul. The "Farewell My Homeland" exhibition on migration to and from Anatolia was held in 1995. The "History of Human Rights in Turkey, 1839-1990" was organized in connection with the Year of Human Rights in 1995. The exhibitions "Vestiges of the Past in the Archives of the Ottoman Bank" (December 1997), "History in Cash: Banknotes from the Ottomans to the Present" (December 1998) and "Boulevard of Banks: Voyvoda Boulevard from the Ottoman Period to Present" (October 2001) were organized in cooperation with the Ottoman Bank. The History Foundation regards such exhibitions as important vehicles to draw attention to history. |
